My Story

Welcome to my website! My name is Erin M. Moss, I’ve been a mental health therapist for over ten years. I own my private practice, Erin M. Moss Mental Health Counseling Private Practice, and have been providing therapy to clients in private practice for over 8 years.

As a young woman, I struggled to find my identity and self-worth within myself and my relationships. I was looking for love in all the wrong places until through my faith and my career I realized that the love I desired was inside me the entire time. I really fell in love with myself and learned what made me happy, and in the process I stopped focusing on what society believes should make us happy. Your path is your path, and everyone is on their own journey discovering their own life purpose. My twenties were a difficult time, but through God and self-love I was able to tap into who I am and what I want. Everyday I help young women work to overcome their own struggles and find their way in life, just as I did for myself.

Throughout my career I have provided therapy for children, teens, and adults facing mental health challenges including depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, domestic violence, trauma, multicultural concerns, family conflicts, and self-esteem building. I predominately diagnose and treat mental health disorders using psychotherapy, and my treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Multicultural Counseling.

I am passionate about mental health and wellness, and I am frequently asked to provide expert mental health advice for news organizations, radio stations, panels, magazines, and more. I feel a strong desire to help others, and to encourage those who look like myself that it’s okay to take care of their mental health. I realize as a Black therapist how important it is to break the stigma surrounding mental health in communities of color. A big part of my mission is to end that stigma and advocate for more Black representation in the healthcare field, and in the media.

My faith is my center, and I want people to find healing wherever they are in their mental health journey. It is the God in me that shines, and I want to provide every individual with the power to create positive changes in their lives.

If you would like to get in touch with me, please fill out the contact form available on my website. I look forward to hearing from you!
